7-Up Cake is a Southern classic and Shelly’s version of this Southern delight is easy to make.

Shelly Twists this cake with shredded coconut and Vietnamese cinnamon.

It is also great for your next tea party.

The Ingredients

First of all, gather all the necessary ingredients for this recipe. Place close attention to the quantities and look for any Twist!

2 sticks of butter, unsalted
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
1 1/2 to 2 cups of sugar
3 cups flour
5 eggs
1/2 tsp almond extract (T)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup shredded coconut (T)
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 can of 7-Up soda (7.5 oz) or 1 cup of 7-Up soda
1/4 cup powdered sugar (T)
