Jerk Salmon

Recipe Ingredients

First of all, check if you have all the necessary ingredients for this recipe. Pay attention to the quantities!
  • 4 salmon pieces
  • 2 Tbsp bottled jerk sauce
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp orange marmalade (T)
  • ½ tsp fresh squeezed lime juice (less than half of a lime)
  • 2 tsp black sesame seeds (½ tsp per salmon piece) (T)

Recipe Instructions

Next, follow the steps to finalize your dish and finally be able to enjoy it!
  1. Wash and drain salmon pieces and place in a gallon plastic bag.

  2. Combine jerk sauce, soy sauce, honey and oil in a small bowl and mix well. Pour marinate mixture over salmon, seal plastic bag and refrigerate for 2 hours. May marinate overnight.

  3. Preheat broiler on High for 3 mins. Line a baking tray with foil paper then spray with oil mist. Add Salmon to tray. Mix orange marmalade and lime juice in a separate bowl (needed for the glaze).

  4. Place salmon in the broiler and set the timer for 8 mins. Do not forget to set the timer.

  5. After 8 mins, remove salmon from the broiler and glaze with marmalade. Glaze the top and sides – the salmon will not be turned during the cooking process. ‘Twist it’ by adding black sesame seeds on top of the glaze and return to the oven for 2 more mins (3 mins max). Do not forget to set the timer. Remove from broiler and serve immediately.

  6. Do not exceed 10 mins (max 11 mins) in the broiler, otherwise you will overcook the salmon.
